Tunable Sound Cloud 2.0; Preliminary Acoustical Studies

Research has begun on developing the next iteration of the Tunable Sound Cloud – a responsive architectural application that allows for real-time modification and enhancement of acoustic performance.

Below are several acoustical studies and simulations performed under the Rhino + Grasshopper environment:

Img-GrasshopperWorkCustomized Grasshopper scripts were developed to simulate new panel systems and test acoustical performance. Shown below is one panel system currently being tested and considered. The system consists of rows of pivoting diamond-shaped reflective panels. Simulations show how sound would travel under different panel configurations.
